Outreach is important to the life of our congregation. Members of
the congregation offer their time and talent to many very worthy
missions, as well as dedicating a percentage of their general offerings
to Outreach, allocated approximately 50/50 to local and worldwide
projects. Over time we have supported numerous projects that lend a
helping hand to the disadvantaged.
Local Missions
Local missions we currently support include: The Dam,
the Open Door mission at Square One, Peel Children's Centre,
Our Place Peel, Mavis Road Homeless Shelter, and Vita Manoraddressing
the needs of youth, women in distress, inner city communities,
and the homeless. Streetsville United Church is also a founding member of
Foodpath and Pathway
whose Breakfast Club we support.
Worldwide Missions
Worldwide missions
currently funded include: support for a well-digging project in Cambodia
through HOPE International,
Pueblito, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Sleeping Children Around the
World, and
Doctors without Borders.
