Epiphany Challenge!

Epiphany Challenge!

Epiphany is a season of light!

Epiphany is also a church holiday on which Christians celebrate the visit of the Magi from the East to Jesus and the Holy Family (see Matthew 2:1-12). Most churches honour this day on January 6, which begins the season of Epiphany. In the northern hemisphere this is a season with more darkness than daylight, much like the holiday season leading up to Christmas. However, we tend to put away our holiday lights shortly after Christmas. What if we left our holiday lights up to brighten a still-dark winter season and shared the message of Jesus Christ along with the lights? So take the Epiphany Challenge—leave up your holiday lights and brighten winter with Jesus’ message of good news for the poor, release for the captives, recovery of sight, freedom for the oppressed, and the time of God’s favour (Luke 4:18)!
