Christian Education is a vital part of our church life. Our aim is to develop and increase Christian knowledge and maturity in all age groups. We have a very active Sunday School, Youth Groups, and library, and we offer courses and study groups. Our large lending library includes books and DVD resources, with new materials added every year.
Sunday school classes for children from preschool to Grade 12 are held Sundays at 10 a.m. The classes start after the Children’s Time that is part of our regular worship service.
Youth Confirmation Classes
Youth Confirmation Classes, for Grade 9 students and up, are led by Rev. John Tapscott. These are held in February and March. Youth Confirmation takes place during a Sunday service in late April or May.
Adult Confirmation Classes
Christianity 101 is generally held in the evening, with up to 5 weekly sessions, in Fall and Spring.
Who is Christianity 101 for?
- Anyone desiring to investigate more fully the way of Jesus
- Anyone desiring to “brush up” on the basics of Christian faith
- Those desiring baptism and church membership for themselves
- Newcomers to our church family desiring baptism for their children
- Anyone who desires the fellowship of a small group within the church
Other courses are given in the Fall and Spring, often led by Rev. John, but sometimes by others. These typically consist of a series of weekly sessions in the evening or after Sunday service. They are often DVD based, with time for discussion. Recent examples are a DVD series on Lee Strobel’s “Case for Faith”, and historical series on the early church by Paul Meyer. Watch for announcements on upcoming courses.

There are three things we must do in order to have a close, intimate relationship with God:
- Participate actively in a Church Family
- Study the Word
With these in place we are guaranteed a fulfilling, prosperous, joyous life. Through His Word, God provides us with wisdom.
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the
knowledge of God.”
